As you can guess,
www.plannedcity.com derives
its name from the world renown nickname given to Longview,
Washington way back in the 1920's. We chose this name for our site
because we feel that it not only shows a tie to Longview and its
historical beginnings, but that it also makes a statement about
where we are going.
R. A. Long was a man of vision who lived his life in an attitude of gratefulness with a
keen attention to detail. He went out of his way to thank his Creator for what he
had been given, and was dedicated to doing things the right way. He saw the
citizens of this new city as co-laborers in a work larger than them all… a work
that would be a heritage and a gift passed on to future generations of families
that would spring up and call Longview home. As a result, R. A. Long and Longview’s
founding citizens took great pride and joy in their labor of love, building a
place where their families and future families could live, work, and
worship together.
www.plannedcity.com is dedicated to the
vision of R. A. Long and Longview’s founding citizens. We take pride in their
accomplishments and seek to promote the values they lived by. Their
faith, sacrifice and hard work laid the foundation for a beautiful community and
great place to raise a family.
