On July 4th, 2005,  Hudson and Hudson Image Media formally announced the presence of their Longview, Kelso and Lower Columbia Region Internet Directory, www.plannedcity.com, on the World Wide Web.

www.plannedcity.com is a community Internet directory designed to serve the families of the Longview, Kelso, Cowlitz County and Lower Columbia Region by providing link addresses to companies, organizations and resources of interest to those who live here in the great northwest. www.plannedcity.com seeks to publish a web site that has a "local feel"... linking visitors to the places they want to go. The website pages contain items that are familiar to those of us who live in Longview, Kelso, and the Lower Columbia area. Some of those "items" include local area photographs, city names, events and interesting articles written by local citizens.

As you might have guessed, www.plannedcity.com derives its name from the world-renowned nickname given to Longview, Washington way back in the 1920's. "We chose this name for our site because we feel that it not only shows a tie to Longview and its historical beginnings, but because it also makes a statement about who we are and where we are going," Hudson said. "Like most of us who live in this great area, we marvel at the vision of R. A. Long and Longview’s founding citizens. We take pride in their accomplishments and seek to promote their dream by lifting up the values they lived by. Their faith, sacrifice and hard work laid the foundation for a beautiful community and great place to raise a family."

"We realize that we are not the only service like ours on the Internet," Hudson said. "In fact, we know that there are already several good Internet directories serving the Longview-Kelso area. This has been a long road for us. Our formal announcement comes after a lengthy learning and development process, born of an idea conceived 10 years ago to build a place on the Internet where the people living here in our area could find a community identity on the World Wide Web. The family aspect of our site is very important to us. We feel we need to do everything in our power to help support the families of our area. We plan to do this by focusing on in-depth Internet link information to local and national government, business, education, church, entertainment, and service organizations that support and build-up the family."

"For many, the World Wide Web is a large, cold and impersonal world of complexity without much direction, but brimming with enormous potential," Hudson said. "It is our intent to give the families of the Lower Columbia Area a place to start, and hopefully return to time and time again. We want to make the World Wide Web a more personal, organized and exciting place to find what a visitor is looking for, or perhaps just a more interesting place to look around."
